Absent from the Body

by J.L. McCarty 1996

Oh Lord Jesus who ascended to a heavenly place,

when will you come back for me,

that I may behold your glorious face?

With the trump of the angels, you will call for me someday,

I will be watching and waiting,

to be summoned far away.

On clouds of Glory, you will take me home,

to the place prepared for me,

a place to call my own.

There I will be with you for all of eternity,

Jesus, I do love you,

the one who comes for me.
